Sally has the potential to bring significant flooding from rain, possible life-threatening surge, and severe weather through tomorrow. Maximum winds are at 80 mph with a forward motion to the north at 2 mph.ġ:00 PM TUE: Maximum winds have dropped slightly to 80 mph and continues moving very slowly to the northwest. Landfall is now possible near Fort Morgan sometime Wednesday morning. This is considered to be hurricane-force.Ħ:17 PM TUE: A 78 mph wind gusts has been recorded on Dauphin Island. Still moving north at 2 mph.Ħ:45 PM TUE: A 77 mph wind gust was reported at Fort Morgan. Max winds are now at 85 mph and additional strengthening is possible before landfall.ħ:00 PM TUE: Not much change to Sally’s intensity with this update…Pressure has continued to drop.
It looks like despite encountering dry air and a some wind shear, Sally is trying to form a more defined eye which indicates strengthening. We are expecting another track shift to the east coming up at 10 pm.Ĩ:00 PM TUE: Sally is now a little stronger. Max winds are still at 85 mph with central pressure at 972 mb.ĩ:00 PM TUE: Sally continues to gradually strengthen and is now moving NNE. It is still moving to the NNE at 2 mph.ġ0:00 PM TUE: As anticipated, Sally’s track has shifted even further east now showing a landfall location near the AL/FL line sometime Wednesday morning. Additional strengthening is possible.ġ2:00 AM WED: Hurricane Sally has re-strengthened to a category 2 hurricane with max winds of 100 mph.ġ1:36 PM TUE: TORNADO WARNING: For Santa Rosa and Escambia County in FL until 12:15 AM.ġ1:00 PM TUE: The National Hurricane Center has updated Sally’s maximum winds to 90 mph. Landfall is still expected in southern Baldwin county or near the AL/FL line in the next few hours.ġ:00 AM WED: Hurricane Sally has intensified even more with max winds of 105 mph.

We’re here to help.”ġ:08 AM WED: A Flash Flood Emergency is now in effect for southern Baldwin county in AL and Escambia county in FL. The wind is not going to do nearly as much damage as the water. This storm is going to pass and we will see the water recede hopefully. Do not adventure into it or drive into it.
Gov Desantis said “just understand this water is hazardous right now. Several hundred National Guard more have been granted to respond if need be. The National Guard have been deployed and are standing by ready to respond.
Gov DeSantis confirmed the President has signed the Emergency Declaration to help with the reimbursements and response from the federal side. “We can always repair someone’s property but we can never unring a bell when someone is in harms way.” Gov DeSantis said. The water is the most problematic especially when we get 20-30 inches of rain like Escambia County. The President signed the emergency declaration. Gov DeSantis said he would be out tomorrow to see what he can do. Human life is the top priority right now. Search and Rescue teams have been prepared since the beginning of the week. 10:33 AM WED: Governor Ron DeSantis said there were a number of precautions taken in the beginning of the week to ready for Hurricane Sally.
